SEE PROLOGUE

How can we explain that the “Aidez l’Espagne” stamp that Miró designed in 1937 was never produced due to the non-intervention treaty, when at the same time the international brigades were being organized? In the same way as in our current geopolitical conflicts, the devices of violence and death block any commitment to peace and coexistence.  
In our curatorial story, beyond offering a selection of works by artists who continue to update a critical memory over the decades, it seemed important to us to give value to the state of mind from which we are enunciating our point of view.
 
Working with the Clown and Butoh-Clown archetypes has allowed us to survive horror, which could be misinterpreted and therefore we need to humbly specify the motivation for having summoned them. The Clown wants to be loved, Butoh eloquently expresses the containment of horror in such a way that it can be shown. They overwhelm us and disorient us, proposing another possible goal, which is unstated remainder. We also needed to verbalize it through our usual language, the visual story.
